For over 20 years, we have been hosting a Friday night social dance, and you are invited!
6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m.
FROM SEPTEMBER TO JUNE
#1 Classic Routines
There are many classic line dances known among swing dancers the world over! Drop into this class to learn the Shim Sham, the Big Apple, the Tranky Doo and other routines that you’ll see a group dancing on a Friday night.
#2 Intro to Balboa/Blues
Learn the basics of some less commonly known social dances such as Blues and Balboa. A great way to try a new dance style before registering for a class subscription or to learn some new moves for the social dance floor.
7:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m.
ALL YEAR LONG
#1 Intro to Swing
Learn the very basics of swing dancing at 7:30 p.m. every week. No partner and no experience required. The topic is a bit different every week, but you’ll have all you need to move and groove to swing music at our parties on a Friday night.
#2 Open Level Swing
For those who know the basics already, come refresh your social dance skills with a mixed-level class designed to inspire you for the Friday night party. You may learn some new moves or something about the music, or both!
Both classes and the social dance are included in the price.
$15/person: a regular evening from 8:30 p.m. (no classes)
$20/person: take one or two classes before the dance, it’s all included!
$25/person: a single price for monthly live music nights. It includes the classes and the social dance with the band.

Social dancing
From 8:30pm to 12am, the doors are open for social dancing.
Our DJs play the best recordings from the swing era and today focusing on big band jazz and the music that makes us swing.
All ages are welcome! Bring your family.
We have a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (cash and card accepted).
Dress as you like, there is no dress code. We encourage you to dress up on live music nights. It’s your choice.
You can come on your own or with others. You can accept or refuse any dance request. This is a social activity and we encourage you to meet the people in the room, but there is no pressure.

Every Friday for over 20 years, we've been getting together to dance! And did you know that Cat’s Corner has been an incubator for some of the most popular swing dance bands in town?
Once a month, we welcome Montreal’s best swingin’ jazz bands to come play for dancers to enjoy this big beautiful dance floor with good company.
Upcoming live music dates are listed on our Facebook page and on our registration platform.
On live music nights, the price is $25 for all. This helps us pay our musicians a living wage and supports our activities.
