On Saturdays and sometimes during the week for special occasions, we come together to promote cultural and community development.
Because we believe that we are more than a dance school: we are a community.
Because you are not just dancers, you are also full-fledged members of this community.
Tap jam
Every Saturday morning at 10.30am, tap dancers gather for the tap jam! Everyone can join to improvise, trade steps, and experiment with rhythm in a supportive, informal setting. It's FREE!
Workshops
Saturday afternoons are dedicated to learning: join one of our workshops! First Saturday of the month: Balboa, second Saturday: Blues. We sometimes host other workshops, all tied to Afro diasporic dances.
Potluck
Let's eat, socialize and dance. Every now and then, we host a convivial afternoon just the way we like it, with swing dancing for all. Families and children are welcome. Bring a dish to share, or make a voluntary contribution.
All our activities are kids friendly. Families are welcome to join our community activities. From babysitting at our social dances to kids classes, there is always something to do for the little ones!

Social Hangout
Cultural and community development, by and for the community
Every now and then, we invite you to share a warm moment of exchange on the cultural aspects of Afro-descendant dances with guests and members of the community. We open this space to share our knowledge of jazz and blues culture, strengthen understanding of our dances, socialize with peers and develop a greater sense of belonging to the community. Video and film screenings, open conversations, potluck and clothes swap, open practices and dance jams: the floor is yours.
Monthly events
Balboa Social
Every first Saturday of the month, after the Balboa workshop, we host a cosy social dance with fast swinging jazz music. Another opportunity for the balboa community to get together and dance at Cat's Corner!

Blues Social
One Saturday every two month, blues dance and music take center stage at Cat's Corner. Come dance the night away with an open blues class starting at 8pm, followed by an evening of social dancing with a band.
We guarantee you an intimate atmosphere and bar service. For only $25, you can get a blues class and some of the best live music Montreal has to offer.
